Home sweet home

Well after about a month of searching we've found our new place. We narrowed it down to three. A 2 bedroom house, a 3bedroom apartment, and a 2 bedroom apartment. Surprisingly we chose the 2 bedroom. It's really the biggest out of the choices. It's an upstairs aparment in a 4 unit old farmhouse. Theres some work we've already decided we're going to do, but it really looks like a place we can call home, and most importantly Aiden will have his own room and a huge yard to play in. Its a small town similar to "Downtown DuBois" for those of you that know what that means it'll be like home, with a good mall near by. After we make the deposit, sometime this week, we can move in and I will start taking pictures so I can show before and afters of my what my handyman can do. I'll be helping of course, but the actual technical work will be him.

Other news, wedding plans are starting to blossom. Nothing permanant yet, but many most likely plans have been set. We'll know more on Thursday night, and then I will post with information!

Oh and GO STEELERS!!

Thanks, but no thanks

I feel that only noteworthy events qualify for blogging. Therefore as you can tell I have something worth writing down! Recently I’ve been put into a situation I hate. Nine years four months and twenty four days ago I was convinced not to count on anyone, not to ask for anyone’s’ help and to not trust most people. Somehow between then and now I forgot this small bit of knowledge I once had and now I feel stupid. Sure it may not be nearly as dramatic as I’m making it seem, but I had to ask for help. Something I absolutely hate doing, but I swallowed my ego and did it. I actually asked several people to help me, and the funny part is: No one would. I do understand that some people couldn’t and to them I am thankful for just being honest but those that could wouldn’t do it. And I know I shouldn’t complain about it, but it bothers me so much because I honestly never ask for anything. Ever. Ask anyone they’ll tell you. I do not ask for favors, presents or help. It’s just not in my genes. So to those that have listened to me complain for the past… well probably three weeks thank you, and to those that could not or would not help: I did it without you. I didn’t have to embarrass myself and ask after all. I found a way to get around all of it and did it. So thank you for reminding me of lessons learned long ago: When life gives you lemons; make lemonade. By yourself and there is no such thing as too much. The sun always comes out and calls for a nice tall glass.

Lets play a little word association..... COOKIE!!

One Christmas down 2 to go. So my dad came to visit yesterday, and it was a really good time. They got here around 11, Aiden opened presents WHICH HE LOVES! Then I made dinner, ham, pineapple, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, corn, cranberry sauce.... you know all the holiday fixens!!! Then we spent the afternoon wedding planning and then they headed back to Dub City. Now I have a week to recover until Aunt Carla, Uncle David, Grandma and Grandpa come for round two!! They will all be here on Saturday for "Christmas Eve" and then another Holiday feast on Sunday! Then Santa officially comes on real Christma Eve and David and I will have our first Christmas with the little man! We went shopping Friday night and lets just say I wanted to kill myself. I can't imagine the people that wait until Christmas Eve to go. People are rude, inconsiderate and over all a pain in the ass. 'Tis the season, and I couldn't love it more! Todays festivities include: printing out pictures with Santa and the family photo to send out in Christmas cards...Who will be lucky enough to get one? Maybe, I'll send one to all of my favorite people. I guess you'll just have to wait and see if you've made the list! Then to the movies to see James Bond with some people who have made me change my plans...Those of you that know me know that drives me crazy! Then maybe some grocery shopping because we have been going day by day rather than just filling up the cupboards. Then if time permits there will be the required Sunday football game!

GO COWBOYS. Which brings me to my most important point of the day. Those of you that hate the Cowboys shut up! I like them, their players, their winninig or losing, and all of the T.O. drams that comes with it. So instead of hating on my time, just support your own and shut up!! I mean that in a holly jolly way.

How about some new pics. I know they're appreciated so here you go:

All bundled up for the snow....Oh wait, it doesn't do that in Philadelphia! Well if it does, we'll be ready!!

Aidens first Christmas tree!! He was super excited!

And finally after being told NO for the past week he was finally allowed to open his first present.

You Betcha!!

As of late my network has become, what sould we call it, extinct! Therefore I've had to use my creativity to get online and be able to do very important things like blogging and messaging those that are of high enough statute to be messaged.

In other news I will be starting a new job tomorrow: "Public Records Researcher" I'm pretty excited about that. I get to sit around on the computer all day googling people, and I get paid for it. Pretty awesome I think.

Aiden celebrated his first Thanksgiving by sleeping through it and then catching a cold that he gave to Grandma and Grandpa when they first arrived. We got pictures taken with Santa yesterday. I will post those soon.

On an emotional level I would like to let everyone know that I'm pretty pissed that President Elect is announcing the National Security Team durring Rachael Ray. What is he thinking?! I don't want to hear from Hilary. I get one day to sit around and watch some day time television, that of which we know sucks pretty bad, but the one good thing on we have to watch politics.... Sista: Mondays are sucky!!!!

In wedding news ( Which is the best part!! ) We've picked a date which I may have mentioned, but one more time won't hurt 09-09-09 and 09-12-09. Yes thats right we get to do it twice! Once on the 9th which happens to be a Wednesday and then will most likey be doing it again for the family on the 12th! Which means I get to wear my dress twice woo hoo! and I think I've narrowed it down to two. I'll post a few pictures we took and maybe you can guess which one is "the one" or "the two" I suppose:

Let the voting begin!!!!

12 September 2008

Of Course I will

So I'm laying on the floor just like any afternoon playing with Aiden, and David comes over goes down to one knee and says "Will you marry me?" and I looked at him and said "OF COURSE!" and the planning has begun. It wasn't a super surprise because we went a couple of weeks ago to look at rings and ended buying the one posted below and his wedding band. He bought me a ring about 9 months ago and said I'll buy you this one and it will be your engagement ring so that is the one I wear now and the one below will be my wedding band! So excited! We've picked a most likey date for next September! The 9th and 12th to be exact. The 9th because it will be 09-09-09 So hopefully that will bring us some luck! And the 12th because the 9th is a Wednesday so we'll do a ceremony and reception on that Saturday which will be the 12th WOOO HOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! More details as they come....

Today's Surprises

I'm sitting here at work and bored crazy! It's a wonderful rainy day which I love because that means my lazy butt can just sit here and goolge everything I can possibly think of and then sit here and fill you all in on the crazy events in my life. Where oh where to start:
I am currently doing all of my research to join the Air Force. I know many people think I am crazy, but I do have several legitimate reasons.
1. They will pay up to $10,000 of my student loans I already have out.
2. It will allow me to finish school as well as go on for masters for free.
3. I will be able to do the job I want to do in the civilian world and get paid a lot more to do the same job for them, as long as I qualify for that job.
4. I will have a job that I can be extremely proud of.
5. I will work with people that actually want to be there and are willing to work just as hard as I am.
6. I will have the opportunity to travel places I would never be able to travel to otherwise.
7. I will have a career that I can retire from in 20 years.
8. My son and family can be proud of what I'm doing and not say I'm working at a dead end job for the rest of my life.
9. Because of the physical aspect I will be in much better shape as well as healthier which is beneficial because my family members have passed on at a young age and I would be making myself a lot healthier.
10. My children would get to see a lot of things they wouldn't otherwise and they would get to meet a lot of people they normally wouldn't get to.

So there are my top 10 reasons in no order on why I want to join the Air Force. The 3 reasons it could be a bad idea:

1. My baby boy. I'd have to leave him for at least 3 months and probably longer
2. David (Even though he is very supportive I wouldn't get to talk to him for awhile and that sucks!)
3. The wonderful war in Iraq.

So there's my pro and con list. After I loose about 15 more lbs we'll talk more. Maybe I should cut my hair that'd be like an instant 5lbs right there.

In other news, little man is standing when he can find something for support, and it helps me when loading the dishwasher
Its way too cute until he loses his balance and falls over, but its still fun to see him growing and going through all of the stages! Everyone says they grow to fast, but I feel we're going at a pretty good pace. He can full speed crawl which means he can get his own toys now and the ones that he wants which means I don't have to play the guessing game of handing him 20 different toys before figuring out which one he'll be happy with for 45 seconds until we move on to another one. This way he can occupy himself for about a half hour, and when he wants me he crawls on over and puts his little lip out and pouts and puts his arms up so I'll pick him up!

Two Fridays ago we spent about 3 hours in the ER. He went to sleep around 8:30 and everything was fine. He woke up around 10 and was just starring at me in a days with super red cheeks so when I went to him he felt extremely hot so I took his temp and it was 102.2 so David called his mom and she said to either take him or wait it out a couple of hrs and see if it broke so we got him all packed up which took about 20 minutes then I took his temp again and it had gone up to 102.9. So we drove through the ghetto to get him to the hospital and a nurse in triog, 2 nurses a med student and a doctor poked at him for about an hour and a half until they decided it was most likely a viral infection and that we needed to stick around until the fever broke which at this point was upto 104. So after the correct dosage of Tylenol and sitting in the hospital for 3 hrs we got to go home where he broke out in a rash that started at his neck and then covered his entire body. So we did all kinds of research and now believe it was an allergic reaction. And I'm being blamed for it because earlier that day I put his hair up in a Mohawk. How was I to know? I do it to kids 10 times a day.
